- MEXICO. Inauguration of Augustin I Iturbide Silver Medal, 1822. PCGS AU-58 Gold Shield. Grove-9a; Fonrobert-6539. Struck to commemorate the inauguration of Augustin I Iturbide as Emperor of Mexico. Obverse: Crowned imperial eagle stands on cactus; Reverse: Five line inscription with wreath around. A pleasing example of this popular Medal with gray to faintly iridescent toning, a slight strike weakness on the centers, and a shallow dig in the left obverse field. Estimate: $250 - $350.
