- 1760 Voce Populi Halfpenny. Nelson-12, W-13950. Rarity-3. P in Front of Face. AU-58 (PCGS). 128.6 grains. A superb example of this variety, among the finest we have offered. Choice surfaces are a slightly reddish olive-brown in color. A bit of minor detritus is noted within the reverse figure's arm; otherwise both sides are free of any meaningful marks or flaws. Well preserved with just a faint trace of wear on the highest points of the design, and traces of mint frost linger in the protected areas. Excellent strike and centering on a smooth, hard planchet. Slightly out of round at the E in VOCE, which affects the top of that letter. Otherwise the entirety of the design and legends are complete and bold. Provenance: From the Norman G. Peters Collection.
