- 1794 Liberty Cap Cent. S-63. Rarity-2. Head of 1794. VF-25 (PCGS). A popular die variety with the distinctive "Fallen 4" obverse and a fascinating reverse die that was repurposed after being used to strike 1793 Liberty Cap cents. A rich marbling of olive, chocolate and caramel hues paints each side of this pleasing example. The surfaces are overall well-composed, with just the faintest granularity visible under magnification in some areas. The obverse design elements are uniformly bold and free of consequential notions of any sort. While the upper reverse exhibits moderate softness, the remaining motifs are nicely pronounced.
