- 1874 Trade Dollar. Proof-63 Cameo (NGC). Bright silver with handsome mirrored fields that offset and contrast with the frosty devices. Sharp on the obverse but a trifle soft on the right leg of the eagle. A few shallow wipe lines from long ago, but minimal signs of handling otherwise. In consideration of a type or date example, these Cameo coins offer considerable eye appeal, especially when found bright silver, as their dramatic two-tone effect provides quite a visual impact when studied, this effect lacking on the usually seen non-Cameo Proofs.
