- GREAT BRITAIN. Victoria/Epping Forest Royal Visit and Dedication Bronze Medal, 1882. London Mint. PCGS SPECIMEN-65.
BHM-3128; Eimer-1689. By C. Weiner. Mintage: 400. Diameter: 75mm; Weight: 195 gms. Obverse: Crowned and mantled bust left; Reverse: Victoria seated left before stream, personification of London standing to left, opening gate to the forest. Deep red-brown in color and with dazzling underlying brilliance, this majestic specimen is undoubtedly one of the better examples of the meager output that one is likely to encounter. Charles Weiner, from the famous Belgian engraving family, produced this timeless medal--very much appreciated as a true masterpiece. Includes original box of issue, a fairly RARE feat in its own right.
Estimate: $700 - $1,000.
Provenance: From the Mark and Lottie Salton Collection.
