- GREAT BRITAIN. Shilling, 1693/0. London Mint. William III & Mary II. NGC EF-40. S-3437; KM-480; ESC-867 (old ESC-1076A). Overdate variety with "9" over "0". Clearly one that NGC should have considered for Choice Extremely Fine or even About Uncirculated certification, this seemingly undergraded piece displays delightful magenta gray patina complemented by a flashy sapphire overtone visible at certain angles. Somewhat reflective and glossy, an exceptional amount of original luster remains for the assigned grade, and wear is also minimal, relegated mainly to the portrait cheeks. Estimate: $600 - $800.
