- GREAT BRITAIN. 1/2 Crown, ND (1601-02). Elizabeth I (1558-1603). PCGS EF-40 Secure Holder. S-2583; cf.KM-7; N-2013(R). "1" mintmark. An exceptionally attractive example and in relatively high grade for the issue. Original, with charcoal toning in the protected areas, and slightly lighter argent coloration on the high points of the design. Expressive portrait, with scepter and orb in hand. The reverse shield over long cross is clear and crisp. From late in her long majestic reign, and a significant piece both historically and numismatically. Estimate: $2,500 - $3,500.
