- Similar color and quality to the preceding 1823. The surfaces and golden toning bespeak originality. Friction is confined to the high points. Elton Dosier, my primary mentor, often reminded me that rub in the fields demotes the grade to XF. PCGS doesn’t always agree. In this case, however, there is no argument. Estimate: $600 to $750
