- 1851-D Liberty Head Half Eagle. Winter 26-R. Repunched Date. EF-45 (PCGS). CAC. Lovely golden-honey patina decorates both sides. Lustrous for the grade with all but the central high points boldly to sharply defined. Despite a mintage of 62,710 pieces, the 1851-D numbers among the top 10 rarest half eagle issues from this Southern mint. The present example is finer than the typically offered VF or EF, and has the added interest of bold repunching to the first digit 1 in the date. PCGS# 8248. NGC ID: 25U7.
