A lustrous near-GEM example of this conditionally rare date. Over 1.2 million were struck but most were either stored in government vaults and melted down in 1918 per the orders of the Pittman Act, or were placed into circulation and remained there for ages, where they circulated widely. Mint State coins, especially in MS64 or finer are RARE. This is a very attractive MS64+ that is just on the cusp of a full GEM grade! A bold swirling cartwheel brilliance radiates over the untoned silver surfaces. Liberty's cheek is ultra smooth and clean, were it not for a small mark in the field between her neck and the date, this coin would have easily graded MS65. A nice strike compliments the smooth fields and the eye appeal is exceptional! PCGS 271, NGC 105, CAC 40. There are 13 graded MS64+ at PCGS. There has not been a PCGS MS64+ CAC sold in nearly four years. More recently a non-CAC MS64 sold for $13,200 in the 2022 ANA auction and a PCGS MS64 CAC sold in November 2021 for $12,000. The current Collectors Universe value is listed at $13,000 and we think this beauty should sell for more. Good luck. Cert. Number 46265747 PCGS # 7288
