- GREAT BRITAIN. Anglo-Saxon. Kings of All England. Penny, ND (ca. 1065-66). London Mint; Eadwine, moneyer. Edward the Confessor. PCGS AU-55.
S-1184; N-831. Pyramids (BMC xv var.) type. Obverse: Helmeted and armored bust right; scepter to right; Reverse: Voided cross, with annulet at center and pyramids in angles. Handsome and regal, this Penny from the end of Anglo-Saxon rule in England bears a strong strike with all details and legends being present. A speckled tone inconsistently coats this interesting piece.
Estimate: $500 - $750.
Provenance: From the Runze Collection.
