FROM THE BIG CYPRESS COLLECTION Only 11,190 examples were struck for circulation, and Rusty Goe suggests a survival of 225-275 in all grades. Again, like many dates in the Carson City eagle series, a good proportion of these survivors are seriously impaired enough to preclude grading. Light circulation is seen on the flashy, brilliant surfaces. When this coin was "new" it was likely fully Prooflike, as there is ample retained reflective brilliance in the fields. The devices are sharp and very pleasingly frosted. Light scattered ticks are minor and perfectly acceptable for the assigned grade. They do not detract from the great eye appeal. PCGS 20, NGC 27. The current Collectors Universe value is listed at $6,000 and this one is finer than the most recent specimens sold in auction.
