- 1787 Fugio Copper. Pointed Rays. Newman 6-W, W-6730. Rarity-4. STATES UNITED, 4 Cinquefoils. VF-30 (PCGS). 135.0 grains. An overall bold representative with just a few small areas of strike weakness, something common for the variety. Patina a mix of light chocolate and darker espresso-brown, the surfaces lightly granular in places at the obverse border, otherwise smooth and slightly glossy. A respectable Fugio type coin at the Choice Very Fine grade level as well a strong example of a die variety that's scarce in higher grades. Provenance: From the Norman G. Peters Collection.
