详细说明: 1796 Draped Bust Cent. S-112. Rarity-5. Reverse of 1794. AU-53 (PCGS). The PCGS insert incorrectly attributes this coin as an example of the Reverse of 1797 Guide Book variety. A scarce die marriage, the Condition Census for S-112 per Noyes (1991) extends all the way down to the VF-30 grade level, which means that the present example almost certainly numbers among the finest known. This piece is sharply struck with little-enough wear to suggest a Choice AU grade. We do, however, note a curiously glossy texture (as well as a few wispy hairlines) beneath steel-gray retoning that suggests a net grade from PCGS. Free of sizeable blemishes, however, with a relatively pleasing "look." An important find for the early Copper variety collector. PCGS# 1404.
