FRENCH INDO-CHINA. Aluminum Piastre Essai (Pattern), 1931. Paris Mint. PCGS SPECIMEN-65 Gold Shield. 37mm. KM-EA26; Lec-311. An EXTREMELY RAREtype, this pattern issue is reported by Lecompte to have a mintage of just 5 specimens. Though the number is clearly slightly higher--as PCGS has graded 7 total--this no doubt is incredibly difficult to encounter, especially so frosted and shimmering. Estimate: $2,000 - $3,000.
