- 1817/3 Capped Bust Half Dollar. O-101a. Rarity-2. AU-55 (PCGS). Subtle champagne-apricot peripheral highlights frame both sides of this otherwise silver gray example. A nicely centered, overall bold representative of this popular overdate variety from the early Capped Bust half dollar series. This die pairing is seldom found this well preserved and is certain to amuse any specialist that secures it with its near comical overdate feature and glorious surface quality.
