- Lot 3 (1672) St. Patrick Farthing Griffee 31-6/5d, Martin 3g.5-Fc.20 R-7 PCGS graded XF45.Type with Breen's "sea beasts" below the king. Choice glossy light to medium chocolate brown. The surfaces are smooth and void of any marks or other defects. Sharply struck and well centered on the planchet. The brass splasher on the crown is visible but not prominent. A premium example of a variety that was called Rarity-7 by John Griffee, and that rarity has been confirmed in the new Martin reference. This is the finest example of the variety known to us.
