Ex The Fairmont Collection, as noted on the insert. This is a major condition rarity in the No Motto Liberty series, and the present example is SUPER HIGH END! If you have ever seen a No Motto $10 in Choice Mint State, you'll know how great of a coin this is. We do not think PCGS showed this coin any mercy! Overall, to the naked eye, the surfaces appear clean, and only when using a strong glass can you see any kind of tiny scattered ticks. A surprisingly brilliant and glowing luster beams from all over. Both sides are a 1000% totally original gold color, but it is NOT a "dirty" coin and is totally unmessed with. There are NO spots or discolorations. Miss Liberty and the details are frosty and are well struck. The eye appeal is super and looks like a 63! There is just something about No Motto eagles from the 1850s that are very charming. They are truly conditionally scarce coins, the vast majority disappearing into circulation during the Antebellum, with very few quality pieces for collectors to pursue. The 1854 is a great example, the original mintage was modest, only 54,250 were struck. David Akers wrote that the "1854 is a rare date in any condition, and in AU or uncirculated condition it is very rare." PCGS 7, NGC 2, CAC 6. This beauty sold in the April 2022 sale of the Hendricks Set for $24,000. The PCGS Price Guide value is $25,000 and the CAC CPG is $25,900. Just five coins, no doubt including some duplication, are graded higher at PCGS, just a single coin is CAC approved and NONE of these have ever sold in auction. This is a very important opportunity for the collector. Once this CHOICE example sells, who knows when you will have another opportunity! Good luck. Cert. Number 43952210 PCGS # 8613
