- GREAT BRITAIN. Anglo-Saxon. Kings of All England. Penny, ND (ca. 997-1003). Canterbury Mint; Eadweald, moneyer. Aethelred II. PCGS AU-58. S-1151; N-774. Obverse: Draped bust left; Reverse: Voided long cross, with pellet at center and triple-crescent ends. A well endowed strike with a consistent gray tone and attractive glossy surfaces. No signs of clipping or problems, and very little evidence of handling is present. Tied for the second finest ever certified by PCGS. Estimate: $400 - $600. Provenance: From the Runze Collection.
