Obverse: Maurice de Nassau on charging horse with city in background; Reverse: Arms of Overijssel linked by ribbon to arms of Deventer, Kampen and Zwolle in center with inscription around and circle of arms of the seventeen members of Council of Overijssel in outer ring. Struck in commemoration of Maurice de Nassau's winning efforts over the Spanish during the Battle of Turnhout. Gorgeous quality for this intricately engraved, massive type, with strong detail existing through the designs and eye-catching rainbow-hued patina over both sides that imparts undeniable eye-appeal. EXTREMELY RAREquality for the type and perhaps the finest extant, with others seen usually showing some evidence of circulation with the addition of chased surfaces, a previous mount, cleaning or all of the above.
