This is an extremely attractive B-1. The sole 1834 quarter in AU50 to be awarded the GOLD CAC sticker. Well struck and conservatively graded by PCGS, we have seen coins in AU55 and AU58 holders that are not as well preserved or original as this "GEM" AU! A wealth of luster survives in the fields. Colorful toning graces both sides, the red-gold and lilac-blue is especially bold on the reverse. Typical for the die marriage, there are mint made clash marks at the central obverse and an arching die crack that add charm to these early quarters.
PCGS 67, NGC 22, CAC GOLD 1. The PCGS Price Guide lists the value of $900 in AU53, $1,250 in AU55, and $1,750 in AU58; the CAC CPG value is $936, $1,230, $1,880 in those grades, respectively. This highly alluring example will delight any type or early quarter collector specializing in GOLD CAC coins. Good luck.
