详细说明: VAM-84, LINE UNDER 8. This is the SINGLE FINEST example of this die variety in the PL designation at PCGS! Its deeply beaming mirrors are captivating and if the devices had a bit more contrast would likely be a borderline DMPL. Sharply struck devices have a nice frosty texture, especially on the cheek and eagle. The obverse die was clearly in its earliest state, as there is a tone of reflection in the recesses of the design elements. A few scattered tiny marks are seen here and there, amplified by the PL nature of the surfaces. The eye appeal is spectacular. PCGS 19, NGC 4. This is the SOLE example of the VAM graded 66 PL and none are finer for the date or variety in the PL designation. This coin brought a record price when it sold in February 2017 for $9,988. While the current Collectors Universe value is $7,500, we know this one will yet again attract intense bidding interest from specialists. Keep in mind that before this coin sold, there had not been one sold since the 2008 FUN auction! Clearly these don't appear in auction with any frequency! Good luck! Cert.
