A visually alluring, totally ORIGINAL toned GEM example of this Civil War date Seated Liberty quarter. Warm slate and pewter are mixed with hints of blue, rose, and olive-russet. Sharply struck devices show crisp, full definition on both sides and have a rich frosted texture that stands out against the satiny surfaces. A strong glass reveals a few tiny ticks, which are perfectly acceptable for the assigned grade. With a wonderful overall eye appeal, this GEM belongs in a carefully assembled set of Civil War era coinage, or special set of Seated Liberty quarters. PCGS 42, NGC 31, CAC 10. The last two PCGS/CAC examples sold in 2019, one in August at $3,720 and one in February for $4,320. Clearly the CAC CPG valuation of $2,850 is not up to date and the PCGS Price Guide value is kept down by non-CAC coins selling for lower prices. Scarce finer, this is a great example for your collection. Good luck. Cert. Number 21369308 PCGS # 5454
