- 1881 United States Assay Commission Medal. By George T. Morgan and William Barber. JK AC-24a. Rarity-5. Copper. MS-65 BN (NGC). 33 mm. A lovely Gem bathed in warm, even reddish-copper patina. Noticeably semi-reflective in the fields, especially on the obverse, with smooth surfaces throughout. This is the copper counterpart to the silver striking from the JK AC-24a dies offered above, the reverse design of which the Julian-Keusch reference on this series describes as "an artistic work of note."
