- Ex Vanderbilt Collection. A truly SUPERB example, a condition census example of this lower mintage date Morgan with only 750,000 struck. This remarkable survivor ranks among the top dozen graded, and there are only FIVE coins at PCGS that grade finer. Offering a brilliant, rolling cartwheel luster on both sides, this 86-S looks like an 82-S. Sharply struck on both sides, the devices offer a strong frosty look. The surfaces are totally smooth and show just the barest trace of delicate tone dusted on the reverse. PCGS 54, NGC 14, CAC 17. There are 8 coins graded MS66+ at PCGS. Two have sold in auction, both CAC-approved, one in the 2018 ANA auction for $10,200 and the other being the RanJack Coin in our July 2018 Regency Auction at $12,925. The current PCGS value is $13,000. Only five are graded finer, and one would cost $50,000 or more if you can find one!
