RUSSIA. 5 Kopek, 1798-CMMB. Saint Petersburg Mint. Paul I (1796-1801). PCGS MS-63. C-96.1a; Bit-88. Silver. Much more elusive than the copper minor coinage from Paul I's reign, and a single point from finest graded at PCGS. A coin that somehow has escaped the ravages of time with no wear. Moderate to deep tone with a rich anthracite color on the cypher. We sold a similar piece also in MS-63in late 2010 for $1,800 plus premiums.
