- PHILIPPINES. Philippines - Peru. 8 Reales, ND (1832-34). PCGS AU-50 Gold Shield; Countermark: AU Details. KM-83; Basso-41; PNM#6-70; PNM#16-161; Cacho-Type VIII CS-027; Gil-Crown variety 5-4-1-C. Type V Countermark, crowned F.7.0 within circle. Issued by decree of 2 October 1832, commencing 5 October 1832 until 20 December 1834. Countermark applied to the obverse of a 1832-LIMA MM Peru Republic 8 Reales. SCARCEstate of preservation for the host type. Countermark slightly unevenly applied obscuring the bottom portion of the "F" of the King's cipher. Otherwise a richly toned and attractive example of this common type in uncommon condition sure to be a welcome addition to the next collection it enters. Estimate: $400 - $600.
