- 1892 Barber Half Dollar. Proof-66 (PCGS). This is an interestingly, yet no less originally toned Gem that makes a profound impression on the eye. The reverse is awash in deep copper-gray patina that blends with a blush of lighter rose-gray color toward the upper border. On the obverse, however, we see a 60-40 split between iridescent emerald-green, crimson-red and olive-orange colors and pale silver-rose tinting. The strike and surface preservation are uniform throughout, completing the picture of an expertly produced and solidly graded proof Barber Half.
