1767-A French Colonies Sou, or 12 Deniers. Paris Mint. Breen-701, Vlack 1-A (H). RF Counterstamp--Double Struck--AU-50 (PCGS). 173.5 grains. Chocolate brown with good gloss despite some fine granularity and hints of dark green verdigris around devices. Boldly chatter double struck on both sides. An unusually sharp specimen. The double struck attribution is not denoted on the PCGS insert.
