- 1881 Liberty Quarter Eagle. MS-60 (NGC). One of the tiny mintage dates from this series with the record production halting at 640 pieces. From this emission it is believed that less than 100 survive in all grades. Mint State coins are the most desirable and the eye appeal and quality offered here is pleasing as the fields show semi reflectivity and the strike is bold. Moderate bagmarks as expected from handling when closely examined, but still one of the finer examples known from this elusive date. NGC Census: 4; 16 finer (MS-64 finest) in all designations.
