详细说明: 1787 Fugio Copper. Pointed Rays. W-6705, Newman 10-T. URS-6. STATES UNITED, 4 Cinquefoils, 1/Horizontal 1. Fine-15 (PCGS). The digit 1 in the date is punched over an earlier 1 that was erroneously entered in a horizontal position. This feature is diagnostic of the Newman 10 obverse, which is known paired with three different reverse dies. The Newman T reverse exhibits, among other features, doubling to the top of the letter E in WE.<br /> Sandy-brown and deep-copper patina mingles over both sides of this piece. Wear is commensurate with the grade, but it is not so heavy that we cannot appreciate all major elements of the design. There are no sizable detractions, but we are compelled to mention a somewhat rough texture to the surfaces with old, light verdigris in isolated areas. An elusive <em>Guide Book</em> variety in all grades, and presently unknown in Mint State.<br /> There is an interesting mechanical error on the PCGS insert in the form of a ""VF15"" grade. The actual grade of this coin is Fine-15, we have denoted in the description.
