1888-O Morgan Silver Dollar. MS-67 (NGC). The triple-eight Morgan Dollar delivery from the New Orleans Mint is common enough in lower grades, the mintage a sizeable 12.1 million pieces and the rate of survival for Uncs being above average for the type. As a Superb Gem, however, this issue is al but unobtainable, the present example ranking as the single finest certified at PCGS and NGC. Pedigreed to the famed Eliasberg Collection, this fully original piece exhibits warm blue-gray and copper-apricot rim highlights to lighter, silver-gold centers. Highly lustrous with vibrant surfaces, both sides are smooth apart from a minor obverse abrasion below Liberty's eye.
