Truly a special Premium Quality GEM Proof 1865 Indian cent! Tied for FINEST graded in any color classification, this coin has an amazing eye appeal. Stunning watery mirrors have a strong brilliance that flashes boldly on both sides. Sharply struck, the devices stand out, giving this coin a near cameo like appearance. The color is robust, with rich accents of mahogany-red. The eye appeal is amazing. Only 500 Proofs were struck of this Civil War year. PCGS 3, NGC 2, CAC 1. There has not been a PR66 BN sold in over a decade, a non-CAC PCGS coin that brought $2,875 in July 2009. A non-CAC PCGS PR66 RB brought $3,840 in the 2019 FUN auction.
