- MEXICO. Chilpanzingo. War of Independence. 4 Reales, ND (1813). PCGS Genuine--Scratch, VF Details. KM-unlisted. Chilpanzingo type A countermark. Congress of Chilpanzingo countermark on a cast copy of an 1809 Mexico City 4 Reales of Ferdinand VII. This crudely cast 4 Reales piece has been struck on the obverse with an insurgent counterstamp. A number of deep, intentional scratches on either side account for the designation. This coin retains a certain rustic charm, however, and serves as an interesting representative of one of Mexico's most tumultuous periods. Estimate: $100 - $200.
