- 1723 Rosa Americana Twopence. Martin 4.1-E.1, W-1346. Rarity-4. MS-63 (NGC). A meticulous strike and even deep-brown color adorn this handsome mint state piece. The hair on King George is as sharply defined here as we have ever seen on this type, and the rest of the detail is likewise bold and well-centered on the planchet. We note a few scratches - off the mouth, left of the ribbon, and left of the crown, as well as a few ticks on the obverse, but on the whole the surfaces are smooth, pleasing, and delicately lustrous. Rosa Americana twopence, like all of the denominations, are rare at the choice mint state level, and seldom encountered any finer. Provenance: From the Collection of David N. Kass. PCGS# 128.
