- CHINA. Dollar, Year 3 (1911). Tientsin Mint. Hsuan-t'ung (Xuantong [Puyi]). PCGS AU-58. L&M-37A; K-227; KM-Y-31; WS-0046B. Variety without dot after "DOLLAR" and without extra flame. A pleasing and barely handled example, this piece is richly toned, with a cacophony of colors coating the surfaces. The very limited wear is reserved on the highest elements of the design, with nearly full details remaining. Meanwhile, the surfaces escape contacting or pockmarking beyond the most limited, only adding to the already copious eye appeal of the piece. A tremendous specimen that is fully worthy of a strong bid from the collector seeking a handsome specimen of this always popular type. Estimate: $6,000 - $9,000.
