1881-CC Liberty Eagle. Winter 1-A, the only known dies. MS-61 (NGC). Lustrous honey gold with decidedly prooflike fields and frosty motifs. Pale olive highlights endorse both sides. The strike is strong and all details are present. Finer overall than the grade implies, with unbroken luster caressing the design high points. While not a great rarity in most grades, the issue is certainly highly elusive in mint state and an opportunity such as presented here should not be dismissed.
