Hard to believe how well this coin has survived its Civil War era minting, but it has now been around for 156 years! The quality is HIGH END! Deep mirrors beam boldly from all over. The mirrors have bold clarity and are clean. A few stray lines can be detected only when using a strong glass. A moderate but lively mix of original navy/purple/pewter colors frame the peripheries. The flash is tremendous. Miss Liberty and the details do offer some silvery frost. All the details are fully struck. The eye appeal is fabulous! 1000 were minted, but most were melted due to poor sales. PCGS 54, NGC 61, CAC 14. The last PCGS CAC piece to sell in auction brought $3,643 in July 2018 (and that coin had a ton of wild color). The current Collector's Universe Value is $2,950.
