- MEXICO. War of Independence. Chilpanzingo-Morelos-ZMY. 8 Reales, ND. PCGS VG-10 Gold Shield. cf.KM-286(for countermark combination). Chilpanzingo type A countermark, hand holding bow and arrow between quiver with arrows, sword and bow; Morelos Type A countermark, stars above and below monogram; ZMY monogram. All on the obverse of a cast silver 1807-MoTH 8 Reales of Charles IV. Host coin typical crude manufacture, the ZMY countermark overlaps the Morelos and the Chilpanzingo countermarks. Somewhat grainy surfaces, light tone atop of the devices with dark patina in the open fields and amongst the devices. Estimate: $300 - $400.
