- 1887 Gold Dollar. MS-66+ PL (PCGS). Offered is a fully struck 1887 gold dollar with satiny devices and deep, glassy fields. From a mintage of just 7,500 circulation strikes, high grade survivors are actually quite plentiful due to widespread hoarding by contemporary numismatists. Examples with the contrast seen on the present example, however, are quite rare. PCGS has certified a mere 3 examples with the PL designation, this being the finest among them.
