- 1820 Capped Bust Quarter. B-1. Rarity-5-. Large 0. EF-40 (PCGS). A handsome example of this elusive die marriage, both sides are warmly toned in a base of silver-gray. The obverse has mottled olive-russet overtones, the reverse with more evenly blended sandy-tan patina. The strike is nicely centered and well executed with ample boldness of detail remaining. Browning-1 is the scarcest of the three die marriages of the 1820 Large 0 Guide Bookvariety, star 8 close to the top of the liberty cap on the obverse and the letter I in PLURIBUS centered under the second letter T in STATES on the reverse.
