CHINA. Chihli (Pei Yang Arsenal). Pattern Mace Mule, ND (ca. 1900). PCGS SP-62 BN Secure Holder. KM-Unlisted; CCC-Unlisted; K-pg. 331-32; Duan-Unlisted; CL-Unlisted. Struck in copper with reeded edge using two reverse dies. EXTREMELY RARE. Proposed design for a Tael series based on the gold standard. Sharply struck with lovely smooth mahogany patina throughout and just a hint of original mint red in the protected areas. Superior to the AU-58 example which hammered at $8,000 in our auction of the Q. David Bowers/R.B. White Collection, April 2018 Lot # 40101. PCGS# 659291 PCGS SP-62 BN Secure Holder. 直隸（北洋）一錢銅幣。樣幣。 銅鑄，滾邊印鑄，雙反面錯鑄。極度罕見。圖案常用於金錠。鑄打深峻，誘人光滑紅木色包漿，保存完好處存留少量原廠紅光。2018年4月 Q. David Bowers/R.B. White拍賣會以 $8,000拍出Lot # 40101同版錢幣，評分AU-58。相比之下，此枚更勝一籌。
