FROM THE GERALD R. FORSYTHE COLLECTION Tied for FINEST graded, this is an astounding centennial year nickel in an AMAZING state of preservation. While a "common" date, it is conditionally very rare in MS66, exceptionally so in MS66+ with NONE FINER. A brilliant, nearly Prooflike reflective luster booms all over this SUPERB GEM, especially on the obverse. The details are impeccably rendered by an exacting blow from the dies. The surfaces are high end quality and have minimal contact, visible only with the aid of a strong glass. The visual allure is amazing. PCGS 22, NGC 4, CAC 5. There are three in MS66+ and NONE FINER. We sold the most recent example nearly five years ago for $4,700 in July 2017. The current Collectors Universe value is listed at $6,000, but we think this GEM could sell for more than that.
