- 1916-D/D Barber Quarter. FS-501. Large/Small D. MS-66 (PCGS). Evenly toned antique silver patina graces the silky smooth surfaces of this satiny Gem, while rose and mauve iridescence peek out from the high points. This overlooked variety is rather scarce in its own right, with a mere sixteen examples graded at PCGS; this being the finest of them all. With the aide of a glass, evidence of a smaller mintmark is easily apparent to the south of the larger mintmark, as well as in the open space of the larger D.
