- 1721-H French Colonies Sou, or 9 Deniers. La Rochelle Mint. W-11830. VF-30. 91.4 grains. Rich chocolate brown with lighter color around devices. Struck on a nice planchet with only the most minor striations. Planchet a bit short, beginnings and ends of obverse lettering interrupted by rim, reverse fairly well centered but the legend is soft and illegible at the rim between 4 o'clock and 8 o'clock nonetheless. Craige called this die pair 3-C. A very pretty piece with great color and eye appeal. PCGS# 158632. Provenance: From the Ted L. Craige Collection.
