- FROM THE SEATTLE COLLECTION A billowing, brilliantly lustrous GEM trime. Satiny surfaces were struck well from lightly clashed dies. A touch of the lightest gold is seen at the rims. The central portions of both sides are sharply impressed by a bold, crisp strike. The surfaces have a bold brilliance that radiates strongly in a light, imparting a strong visual appeal. Especially in an NGC holder, this date rarely comes finer. PCGS 31, NGC 34. The most recent example realized $1,980 in June 2019 and the current Collectors Universe value is listed at $3,250. A mere bakers dozen are graded finer at NGC, this is an exceptional GEM caliber 1857 3CS worthy of a neat type set or representing the date in another carefully selected set. Cert.
