详细说明: (1792) Washington Born Virginia. Baker-60, W-10730. Rarity-6. GENERAL OF THE AMERICAN ARMIES Reverse. Copper. EF-45 (PCGS). Offered is a lovely specimen of this famous issue. The date on the reverse lines up under ICAN. Deep golden-brown with a generally attractive unassisted eye appearance. No marks of any measure greet the interested viewer, and the surfaces hold up admirably to magnified scrutiny. True, a few ticks were picked up over the years, but the only blemish of note is a small old mark on Washington's cheek that an eagle-eyed viewer might pick out without a loupe. About a mid-grade example of this popular scarcity; we usually see them at VF or lower on the grading scale. Choice for the grade and issue.<br /> Several decades ago Albert Collis, a Massachusetts numismatist, had the obverse dies and made uniface restrikes from them, which met with reception at the time. The die is presently in the collection of the American Numismatic Association in Colorado Springs, a fine cabinet under the curatorship of Doug Mudd.
