- 1883 Trade Dollar. Proof-63 (PCGS). CAC. Crisply struck with smooth mark-free surfaces, this appealing Proof Trade dollar has a light golden sheen and is further enhanced by rose and cobalt blue peripheries. From a Proof-only mintage of just 979 pieces. The entire issue was produced as an accommodation for the numismatic community; the last U.S. trade dollars actually coined for overseas trade were dated 1878.
