- 1850 Liberty Head Half Eagle. AU-50 (PCGS). CAC. Original honey-olive surfaces display glints of pale rose iridescence here and there around the peripheries. One of many underrated issues in the early Liberty Head half eagle series, the 1850 is just as scarce in today's market as many of the more highly regarded Charlotte and Dahlonega issues from the 1840s and 1850s. With Uncirculated survivors from a mintage of 64,491 coins rarely encountered, this handsome and premium quality AU-50 represents a significant find for astute gold collectors. PCGS# 8243.
