- FROM THE WOLVERINE COLLECTION. Among the very FINEST known of this popular variety, missing the L on the ribbon. The surfaces are blazing, original RED with lively, deep, beaming, highly reflective mirrors that offer the most awesome clarity you can imagine on a bronze Indian Head cent Proof-especially of this early era. The devices are razor sharp in definition and are fully frosted throughout with dramatic contrast against the mirrored fields. Iridescent coppery-gold blend oto rich orange that show off traces of deeper crimson. The eye appeal is very high end. This transitional variety saw a mintage of approximately 300 pieces, the vast majority of these are brown or red brown with only slight traces of red. Fully red examples are real prizes among aficionados of this series. PCGS 2, NGC 0. This is the most recent example to sell in auction, bringing $19,975 in the 2015 ANA auction. The only other one to sell in auction brought $28,750 back in the 2004 FUN auction. The current Collector's Universe value is listed at $25,000 and we expect this dramatic looking GEM to fetch a very strong bid. Bound to be added to a very high ranking set of Proof Indian Head cents. Good luck! Cert. Number 25685655 PCGS # 82278
